COVID-19 Update

Under the Restore Illinois Plan, we are planning to reopen our Kung Fu school and are striving to establish the guideline and policies to reduce the spread of COVID-19. As you can imagine, these plans for students look very different than they would in a typical time in the past.

For the best safety for our students, the following policies and protocols will be in place when you return to school.

  1. The focus of my teaching will be demonstrating new techniques and correcting your moves, the practice following me will be reduced.
  2. The focus of your learning at school will be understanding and memorizing the new skills. You will be expected to practice a lot by yourself at home and perform solo demonstration in next class. If you need assistance to access the pre-recorded video, please let me know.
  3. Schedule will remain the same so that students have many options to find the best time to practice and keep enough social distance.
  4. We will divide the classes into to two big portions, inside and outside. The inside potion will only accommodate a small number of students with light practice. The outside portion will allow solo demonstration with full energy.
  5. Face coverings and masks that cover the nose and mouth will be required in all interior space and outside when social distancing cannot be maintained.
  6. No shared/public tools/equipment will be available at school. Each student is required to use your own practicing equipment.
  7. We also kindly request that anyone with symptoms stay home. Specifically, please follow the below guideline:
    1. Before attending in person class, participants must not exhibit any signs or symptoms of COVID‐19 in the past 14 days and have no known exposure to someone who has been ill within the past 14 days.
    2. If a student has any signs or symptoms of COVID19 during class, the student will be sent home and instructed to contact his/her health care provider as soon as possible.
    3. All students and coaches must maintain social distancing and practice good personal hygiene.
  8. The waiting area inside school will be closed, and we request parents to:
    1. Ensure your child is healthy and check your child’s temperature before school
    2. Consider not or very limited car-pooling
    3. Stay in car or adhere to minimum 6 feet social distance requirement
    4. Follow the state orders for wearing a mask
    5. Ensure child’s clothing is washed after every training
    6. Ensure all equipment are sanitized before and after every training
    7. Notify me immediately if your child becomes ill for any reason
    8. Do not assist me with equipment before or after training
    9. Be sure your child has necessary sanitizing products with them at every training

Due to Corona Virus (COVID-19) we will have some review videos here for current students to review at home. Please stay safe and healthy
