Illinois Shaolin Kung Fu Martial Art Classes

Kung Fu Program:

Learn the forms and techniques passed down from generation to generation of Shaolin monk.

Adult Kung Fu Program include:

  • Authentic Shaolin Form
  • A wide variety of fist, foot, striking techniques
  • Chin-Na (Seizing and Locking)
  • Shuai Fa (Takedowns)
  • Weapons including: Staff, Spear, Broad Sword, Pu dao, Straight Sword, and more
  • Sanda - Chinese Kickboxing (Sport fighting)

Tai Chi:

Tai Chi is a soft Chinese Martial Art designed for relaxation, balance and health. Tai Chi is also describe as meditation in motion. All forms of Tai Chi include rhythmic patterns of movement that are coordinated with breathing to heap you achieve a sense of inner calm. The concentration required for Tai Chi forces you to live in the present moment, putting aside distressing thoughts. The intensity of Tai Chi varies depending on the form or style practiced. Some forms of Tai Chi regardless of your age or physical ability - Tai Chi emphasizes technique over strength. In fact, because Tai Chi is low impact, it may be especially suitable if you're an older adult who otherwise may not exercise.

Sanda is Chinese self-defense and sport fighting system: it combines full-contact kickboxing, which includes close range and rapid successive punches and kicks, with wrestling, takedowns, throws, sweeps, and kick catches.

Classes are intense and involve heavy conditioning and sparring so be prepared for a hard workout!
